As a staff team, we believe we can more effectively meet your child’s needs if we work together. We value your input as your child’s primary carer, and as an expert on your child.
We rely on your partnership, so together we can provide your child with the highest quality education and care. This will make their time at school happy and enjoyable.
Every morning, staff are available at the playground for you to pass on quick messages or ask questions. We also check our Year 5 email account daily for any other messages you are unable to pass to us on the playground.
Behaviour and Rewards
Year 5 follow the whole school behaviour policy.
The school has recently implemented the class Dojo system. Children can acquire dojo's through positive behaviours such as kindness, showing a good attitude to learning or demonstrating our school values.
Children who receive dojo's can earn rewards and access to fun activities. In Year 5 the Dojo system is complimented by our 'Golden time' charts, rewarding those children who demonstrate the school values consistently. These reward systems reset each week. On Friday, those children who have either collected enough Dojo's or who have shown consistently good behaviour will be rewarded with a 'Golden Time Activity'.
So far this year these activities have consisted of: chess, board games, arts and crafts, textiles, outdoor play and coding.
